Charlotte - Bespoke Wedding Dress

I found the skirt of my dress for sale in Notting Hill and fell for it straight away, it was over 150 years old, it was the first thing I saw but I knew I could make it into a very special dress. I Bought the skirt, some other old laces and put together a rough design. I wanted something elegant with a gothic touch. Although I could roughly sketch a dress I know my limits and knew I needed the help of an expert. Kirsty at Couturemango was recommended so I visited her for a chat. I'm a designer myself so the level of design / maker I was after was very high. But after meeting Kirsty and listening to her speak I knew straight away she was the woman for the job. She helped improve my designs and worked out all the difficult technical aspects. The final dress was outstanding, she understood my vision completely and created the most beautiful unique dress. I was blown away by the response to my dress on the day and since. In fact amongst my fashion designing friends, Kirsty's attention to detail and incredible perfect bias cut, vein darted, raglan chiffon sleeves became a tourist attraction! I knew walking into a commercial, off the peg wedding dress shop (no matter what the budget), would not have been for me. I gave an old dress the chance to live again for a day, and achieved something entirely original. - Charlotte

Emily - Veil

I discovered Couturemango a month before my wedding. I had wanted a veil to complement my intricate, vintage style dress, but the only ones I managed to find were bunched up on combs, much too bouffant and modern for my dress. In desperation I had bought one, and after I had attacked it with my scissors leaving only a chiffon rag, I stumbled across Couture Mango's Etsy listing. The veil looked beautiful from the pictures, and the tiny daisies were a perfect match for my dress. As I had just four weeks to go, having never used Etsy before I was apprehensive, but Kirsty was fantastic. The day after I contacted her she sent samples of tulle, ribbon and the daisy trims for me to choose my personal preferences, and was really flexible on the length and shape of the veil. After I had confirmed and made payment, the veil was made and posted within one day! I loved the quality and unusual style of the veil, and it was a pleasure to wear. I would not hesitate in recommending Couturemango to other brides. - Emily

Rita - Veil

I came across Couturemango when I was browsing on Etsy for veils for my (fairly) low-key civil wedding...and they just had the most gorgeous veils! Kirsty was able to come up with a truly customised veil that was just perfect for what I wanted, and everyone told me how lovely it was. It's just so delicate and feminine - there's something about it that's so ballerina-style... In fact, it's so lovely I'll even be wearing it for my big religious wedding this Spring in Portugal - wearing my mum's cathedral-length one for the ceremony itself but will definitely be going back to my Couturemango one during the dinner party as it'll just suit that wedding dress too! Can't wait! - Rita

Lynne - Veil
